🔰 Introduction
Fatty Liver Awareness Program was born from a deeply personal and professional question I keep asking myself: How can I truly help people struggling with liver issues, especially those at risk of needing a transplant one day? As a liver transplant anaesthetist, I’ve seen too many patients reach the hospital when it’s already too late. That’s why my mind keeps circling back to the preventable stages, the point where change is still possible. And among all the preventable liver conditions, fatty liver disease stands out. It’s everywhere, affecting 1 in 4 people and yet, often ignored because it doesn’t shout loud enough… until it’s too late.
Mission
To make people aware of fatty liver disease in as many ways as possible — so we can stop this silent epidemic today and help everyone live better tomorrow.
Vision
A healthy liver for all of us. Promoting lifestyle changes that protect and preserve liver health — because prevention is always better than transplant.
Our Commitment
Empathy. Collaboration. Action.
We believe in coming together — hand in hand — to raise awareness, build habits, and create real, lasting change.
This program is my effort to change that. To raise awareness, to tell you what not to ignore, and to show you what steps you can take today, whether it’s prevention, reversal, or support in early stages.
It’s about giving you the tools, the guidance, and the mindset to say:

❗Why This Program Matters

“Fatty liver disease is the new silent epidemic. One in four Indians lives with it. Most don’t even know it. But with the right awareness, it’s also 100% preventable & reversible in early stages..”
- It starts silently/ in ultrasound and is often ignored.
- If caught early, it is reversible.
- If ignored, it can lead to steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and even liver cancer.
- This program is our effort to break the silence and bring clarity.
- All it takes is awareness, action, and consistent lifestyle support.
- That’s why this program exists to bridge the gap between diagnosis and clarity, offering you and your family real, doctor-backed resources to take control of liver health.
Fatty Liver Awareness Pyramid: A Blueprint for Change

The Fatty Liver Awareness Pyramid is a powerful visual framework designed to inspire collective action, educate the public, and promote sustainable lifestyle changes. At its core, this pyramid emphasises early screening for high-risk individuals, especially those with obesity, diabetes, or other metabolic conditions. It seeks to raise global awareness by engaging healthcare professionals, caregivers, patients, and the broader community in open dialogue and education.
Each level of the pyramid encourages individuals to take ownership of their liver health by adopting simple, healthy habits, such as mindful eating, regular physical activity, and avoiding harmful substances. The pyramid also connects fatty liver disease with its root causes—such as insulin resistance and poor metabolic health—by providing clear, easy-to-understand information on disease risks and progression. Ultimately, it calls for unified, compassionate efforts that empower people to prevent, manage, and reverse fatty liver disease—starting with awareness, fueled by action.
Strategies for Fatty Liver Awareness: Turning Knowledge into Action

To effectively tackle the growing burden of fatty liver disease, a multi-level awareness strategy is essential. This includes highlighting global initiatives such as Global Fatty Liver Day, an annual worldwide event dedicated to promoting early action and awareness. In the U.S., National Liver Awareness Month further amplifies education on liver health, including fatty liver disease. Local screening events play a crucial role in identifying individuals at risk—especially those unaware of their condition. Meanwhile, well-crafted educational materials in the form of brochures, infographics, and online content help explain the disease, its causes, and how it can be managed or reversed.
Through community outreach programs, we can reach diverse populations by partnering with local health organisations to conduct workshops, talks, and health camps. Together, these strategies form a strong public health approach to inform, screen, and support communities in preventing and managing fatty liver disease.

🟢 Conclusion: What This Program Is All About
The Fatty Liver Awareness Program is built on a simple but powerful goal:
👉 To identify every individual with fatty liver early—especially those detected incidentally through ultrasound.
Why? Because when caught early, fatty liver can be reversed without pills—just by making intentional lifestyle changes.
This program aims to:
- Raise awareness of risk factors that silently lead to fatty liver.
- Promote early detection through non-invasive tools like ultrasound and elastography.
- Encourage screening at the community level, not just in clinics.
- Unite individuals and families to talk about liver health openly and support each other.
- Leverage global efforts, such as World Fatty Liver Day and National Liver Awareness Month, to spread the message further.
- Guide people toward simple, sustainable steps for a healthier liver—and a healthier life.
Whether it’s through education, screening, or support, this program invites everyone to be a part of the global movement to tackle the silent fatty liver epidemic — with awareness, with action, and with hope.
